Jesus! That looks sooo risky. Yes indeed my PD is May 06. Now the question is what if (I know a big IF), but what if, I apply for my 485 (hoping that my 485 will be on EAD/AP for a long time) BUT my 485 gets approved rather quickly and I am not able to marry before that happens -- do I have *any* way to tackle that issue? Or would it then mean that my wife cannot come in US for n number of years after marriage?!

Lou Dobbs was in Orange County this weekend as a Keynote speaker at the The World Affairs Council of Orange County. He launched into his usual vitriolic diatribe, there were many business leaders at the forum and he ended up polarizing the crowd. Some felt that he is all talk with no practical real life experience managing companies, his ideas are over the top and cannot be implemented. He never ran or lead a fortune 500 company or held a major political office, yet he critiqued the very organizations who sponsored tables for this dinner. A few did get carried away by his speech, i have to say that the crowd at the back was cheering wildly for him while the executives in the front were subduded. BTW this person with socialist leanings has hefty appearance fees.
We would be better off not wasting our time on him or rebutting his indirect accusations, he is playing to his crowd. We should play to ours.

You're right. No offence but no authority seems to be listening to IV suggestions. I agree that people at IV are doing great job, but the problem is nobody is listening. They just don't care. And this think will go on & on. I remember s'body suggesting hunger strike and at that point of time I thought that won't work. But now it seems we have to go extreme and do hunger strike and stuff to pressurize this crappy system.
EB3 people don't think I am being selfish here. The truth is we have to work unitely and pressurize for visa recapture. That will be beneficial for e'body.
Lets target the 'Asses' asking for a kick. Let's all kick ass.

Did you consider using "atlas america" and other bunch of travel insurance that advertise themselves as PPO? I am wondering if anyone has expericence dealing with them regarding claims. I purchased that recently for my parents since it had 100/0 or 90/10 coverage.
Anyone has experience going to hospital using these insurance?
Hi I am a physician in Oregon and my parents are visiting too in July. I called Kaiser regarding this, and this is what I was told.
1. they can get insurance since Kaiser does not need an SSN for the application.
2. Every Plan has a deductible $, an out of pocket maximum $, and a co-insurance $ amount.
So,
Plan A: Deductible 2500, Co-insurance 22% of all inpatient cost upto max of $22,000.
Plan B: Deductible 6000, Co-insurance 50% of all inpatient cost upto max of $50,000.
Essentially none of these plans are a 'good deal'. But remember its easier to pay back a loan of 22k - 50k than to pay back 100-200k.
Also since Kaiser is an HMO, and has its own facilities in the west coast and Hawaii, 'accepting insurance' is not a problem.

As there are now many people who are actively posting in the group. Identify and rotate the maintenance of the membership among these members on a weekly basis.
The ideas are good and in the past we have contemplated having a paid member area on IV site too. However the biggest problem we have is - who will manage it?
We all have full time jobs and already have our hands full. Adding anything extra to the current workload will be too much work for us.
Either we hire someone to do it. And to hire we need money. We find it hard to even raise money for Lobbying every other month. There are other important areas like publicity we can look at too if we get more funds. So we cannot hire anyone to manage this.
Now can someone volunteer for it? Yes but how many people come forward with a commitment in a 25k membership? You can see from the thread

The only immigrants they have heard about are the illegal kind. Ordinary americans are mostly indifferent to legal immigration. Politicians care first for their votebanks (present and future) and second for their sources of funding aka corporate lobbies. They are the ones who have the ability to make a difference.

Hi Smartboy75 & Wawa, I also received the same update on Sep 28th ,I am in pending h1b transfer and uscis tried to reopen my previous approved h1b .
I am June filer and got all the receipts. Please keep me posted as well.

I totally agree. They want to issue visas to all of them in a year... They will have more RFEs for legals than illgeal so people should work towards their temporary permnanent residency that is Z
You can call Jose in Mexico and they ll deliver a passport in less than a week. ALL WE NEED IS TO REGISTER A LAWN MOWING FIRM and then BILL THE CLIENT at 100$/Hr for first designing the plan for the mowing on a computer and then getting a MEXICAN to do it for us. ...;-)
