I know a lot of people have advised you not to go to the cops but I feel ( I have a young son ) that you should not let anyone who beat your 8 month old kid go unpunished.
I am not a lawyer but from what I have seen about this country justice is not denied . Local cops and Immigration are two separate branches of government . ( ICE enforces immigration issues )
If anyone had beaten my son then my H1b or GC or citizenship would be the last thing on my mind. My opinion - take advise from the lawyer right away.

When you report a crime, in my opinion, the cops don't ask you for your immigration status before starting their investigations. Even if they do, they are not going to tell the immigration that a person on H-1B has hired someone who is not authorized to work. It is best to see an good attorney who might change you couple of hundred dollars only.
As hpandey said, the reason she continues to work is because she continues to find jobs with people who are looking for Indian nanny and most of such people are willing to look the other way when it comes to nannys immigration status because the nanny charges less or maybe because the nanny speaks your local language and apart from taking care of your kids also cooks for you while you are out working. It will send a message to all such unauthorized workers to stop misusing their immigration status. Also, you might be able to save other children from similar trauma.

This does not mean we will not be seeing any approvals now. USICS might have assigned the visa numbers to lot of pending EB2 I-485 applications. They will be adjudicating those cases in few days. So folks keep the faith , keep bugging USCIS (call them day and night) and check immigrationvoice.org every 2 minutes and also don't forget to check your emails and uscis.gov website for CRIS updates every minute :eek:

I'll send the letters when the final draft is ready. I agree though, the final draft should address difficulties faced by both EB2 as well as EB3 if possible. On the other hand the particular argument made in this letter - against the USCIS ad hoc processing and not honoring PDs - is kinda difficult to make for EB3 cases since EB3-I was "U" at the same time. Unfortunately we do not have actual proof from the recent past where USCIS actually processed EB3 applications out of order which we have in case of EB2 category.
What are IV core's thoughts on this campaign? I would like to see some comment from IV core on this idea. If it can be made an official IV action item by the core I bet there will much more momentum behind this.

I was hoping the date to be somewhere around March 2005. That would have taken care of all Backlog Elimination Center cases.
- Current dates show that there were a lot of BEC cases to be approved.
- Now, dates might struggle a bit to reach April 2005.
- Dates should move faster after that till end of 2005 as there were very few cases that went through PERM in 2005.
- Again, in 2006 the Dates might move slow till......we reach last FY month overflow in Sept 2010.

Granted you scored a point when you were allowed to file for employment authorization this July. If your one rally worked, do you really think other rallies will work too? The world of politics is driven by numbers; you do not have enough numbers to get any lawmaker interested. So wake up Macacas, admit it, you all are bunch of losers.
So far as the skills are concerned, you have been harping on the theme that you are highly skilled? If the definition of highly skilled is a mere undergrad degrees then 75% of Adult Americans are highly skilled. I bet not even 5% of you have PHDs and you call yourself highly skilled. Huhhh
And this for the leadership of your organization: You are wasting your time. If you are so desperate to get green cards contact me. We will see what we can do… One thing I believe though is this country needs people with leadership skills and not so called "Highly Skilled". So I will be more than happy to work with you. Our problem is that we do not want to accept this news. Unless we receive some confirmed news to contrary we should not blame someone who might have shared this news with us in good faith. Let's try to find out the truth first.
It may be right. One of my congresswomen assistants called up USCIS and they were told that due to many apps, there is lot of confusion and they will get back to her in week's time. Not sure but looks like USCIS/DOS has boned this up again :-)

Did you ask her any questions? Like if the case stands preadjudicated or not or if they will need more info in future?
